Papagayo

Venue

Papagayo

Sitting right on Troya Beach in Playa de las Américas, Papagayo is the only club in the Canary Islands to appear in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs — ranked #76 in 2026. The venue runs a proper day-to-night concept: Mediterranean food and sunset drinks on the terrace give way to a serious club night across two floors, five bars and a central dancefloor with a state-of-the-art sound system. Music policy changes every night of the week — house, Afro house, Latin, tech house — and the DJ bookings are consistently strong. Expect it to be packed by 1am on weekends.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dress code at Papagayo Tenerife?

Smart casual at night — leave the beachwear at the hotel. Door staff turn away swim shorts, flip flops and football shirts on club nights, so wear proper shoes or clean trainers with trousers or smart shorts and a decent top. During the day the terrace is far more relaxed beach-club dress, but from the evening onwards the standard goes up, especially on busy weekends and big event nights.

How much does entry to Papagayo cost?

It depends on the night — there is no single fixed price. Entry varies by event and DJ, and the terrace and restaurant during the day are free to walk into (you just pay for food and drinks). For club nights, booking online in advance is always the smart move: door prices are significantly higher, and flagship nights like La Loka on Mondays and big international bookings sell out regularly.

What time does Papagayo open and close?

Papagayo runs a day-to-night concept. The terrace serves Mediterranean food and sunset cocktails from the daytime onwards, then the club side takes over late: don't bother arriving before midnight, because the dancefloor is packed by 1am at weekends and peaks between 1am and 4am, running well into the early morning. Exact times shift with each event, so check the event page for the night you want.

What music do they play at Papagayo?

The music policy changes every night of the week — house, Afro house, tech house and Latin — with consistently strong DJ bookings across two floors and a central dancefloor. Monday's La Loka is the flagship Latin night and one of the most talked-about recurring parties on the island. It's the only club in the Canary Islands in DJ Mag's Top 100 (#76 in 2026), so the sound system matches the reputation.

How do I get to Papagayo?

Papagayo sits right on Troya Beach, on the seafront promenade of Playa de las Américas at the beach end of the Veronicas Strip. It's walkable from most hotels in the resort, and a taxi from Los Cristianos or Costa Adeje costs around €5–10. Tenerife South airport (TFS) is roughly 15 minutes away by taxi. On big event nights taxis get busy after midnight, so book the return ride ahead if you can.
