Everything you need to know about partying in Tenerife — the best areas, venues and insider tips for an unforgettable night out on the island.

Best Areas for Nightlife in Tenerife

Playa de las Américas

The party capital of Tenerife and the island's undisputed nightlife hub. Home to Veronicas Strip — a stretch packed with clubs, bars and live music that goes until sunrise — as well as world-class beach clubs like Papagayo (ranked #76 in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs 2026). International DJs, themed nights and packed floors every night of the week from May to October.

Los Cristianos

A more relaxed atmosphere than Las Américas but still with a solid nightlife scene, especially around the harbour. Good selection of bars and late-night spots that attract a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. A great starting point for the evening before heading to the clubs.

Costa Adeje

Upscale area with luxury beach clubs, pool parties and sunset sessions. The place for sophisticated daytime and evening events. Monkey Beach Club is one of the most iconic venues here, running legendary beach parties since 2007 with headline DJs and stunning ocean views.

Santa Cruz

The island's capital has a vibrant local nightlife that's largely off the tourist radar. Authentic Spanish bars, underground clubs and live music venues. If you want to experience the real Canarian nightlife away from the beach resort circuit, Santa Cruz is the place.

Insider Tips

Best time to go out

Tenerife nightlife starts late. Don't arrive at a club before midnight — the busiest nights are Friday and Saturday from 1am–4am. Weekday events at Papagayo and Mala Mía are surprisingly well attended during peak summer season.

Dress code

Smart casual is the norm at most venues. Some upscale clubs and beach clubs require no flip flops or shorts. Always carry ID — venues strictly enforce age verification.

Getting around

Taxis between Playa de las Américas, Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje are cheap (€5–10). Book in advance on busy nights or use a local taxi app. Most clubs are walkable from each other in the Américas area.

Booking tickets

Pre-book tickets for big events and recurring nights like La Loka at Papagayo or The White Party at Monkey Beach — they often sell out. You'll also save money versus door prices.
