Playa de las Américas: The Complete Party & Beach Guide 2026

Tenerife's ultimate party destination — everything you need to know about the beaches, nightlife, top clubs and what to do in Playa de las Américas.

Playa de las Américas is the undisputed centre of Tenerife's tourist and nightlife scene. Built around a string of golden beaches on the southwest coast, it combines everything that makes the island so popular — reliable sunshine, warm Atlantic water, world-class beach clubs and one of the most concentrated nightlife zones in Europe. Whether you're here for the beach or the clubs, this is where it all happens.

The Beaches

The resort is built around several beaches, the most famous being Playa de Troya — a wide arc of golden sand flanked by palm trees and the terraces of Papagayo and Monkey Beach Club. Playa del Camisón sits at the quieter northern end of the resort and draws a more relaxed crowd. All beaches have calm, swimmable water year-round and are lined with sunbeds, beach bars and water sports operators.

The Nightlife: Veronicas Strip

Veronicas Strip — officially Avenida de las Américas — is the epicentre of the nightlife. A pedestrianised stretch packed with clubs and bars running until sunrise, it's the loudest, most concentrated party zone in the Canary Islands. The Strip runs parallel to Playa de Troya and is walkable from almost every hotel in the resort. The best clubs are anchored at the beach end of the strip: Papagayo and Monkey Beach Club operate on a completely different level to everything else nearby.

Top Clubs & Venues

Papagayo Beach Club, ranked #76 in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs 2026, is the standout. It runs a day-to-night concept — lunch on the terrace, cocktails at sunset, then a full club night across two floors and five bars. Monkey Beach Club next door has been hosting legendary beach parties since 2007, including The White Party every Wednesday — one of the most iconic recurring nights on the island. Mala Mía on Calle México is the local favourite for Latin and urban nights.

Things to Do by Day

The resort has enough to fill every hour before the clubs open. Water sports are available directly from the beaches — jet skis, parasailing, paddleboarding and boat tours. The Siam Park water park is a short taxi ride away and is consistently ranked among the best in the world. For a slower pace, the coastal path between Las Américas and Los Cristianos makes for a scenic walk with several good stops along the way.

Getting There and Around

Tenerife South airport (TFS) is 15 minutes by taxi from Playa de las Américas — one of the most convenient resort locations on the island. Within the resort, everything is walkable. Taxis to Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos are €5–10. Most of the main clubs and beaches are within easy walking distance of each other along the seafront.
